New Favorite Duo from Australia: Pnau!

I recently started reading the music blog from the DC area, "All Things Go" and have been surprised at the great music I've found there. I had never heard of this band, Pnau, before and am seriously loving them right now.

Pnau are an Australian dance music duo and have just released their 4th studio album, "Soft Universe" in July 2011. You may be wondering how to pronounce this duo's name, as I was confused at first too. One  pronunciation of Pnau is "pah-now". The name is supposed to sound like a gunshot. Nick Littlemore (one band member) explained the name was the result of an instance when he was speaking in tongues.... After shouting gibberish for half an hour, he decided Pnau would be an appropriate band name.

My favorite track of theirs so far is, "The Truth." It has a fun, shimmery sound to it and just screams summer to me. The chorus is pretty powerful as well and constantly is stuck in my head. Take a listen to Pnau's new album, "Soft Universe" and check out the song, "The Truth" here!

Also, some great remixes of their songs are coming out. Breakbot did a great mix of their track "Baby." This is one to certainly stick in your head as well.
